News: Swire unveils Opus Hong Kong
Swire Properties has unveiled its show apartment for Opus Hong Kong, the highly anticipated first residential project in Asia by legendary architect Frank Gehry.
"In Opus Hong Kong, Frank Gehry has created one of the most significant new works of domestic architecture in Asia," said Martin Cubbon, Chief Executive of Swire Properties.
"Gehry's breathtaking design and the building's exceptional location demanded the very best in interiors. We are therefore delighted to collaborate with renowned North American design firm Yabu Pushelberg, whose award-winning work attracts wide praise in the design world."
The show apartment fills the tenth floor of the development, where its interior acknowledges the building's spiralling architecture and the surrounding influences of nature as well as the expectations of its residents.
"This building represents such an exceptional union of nature and modern design that we wanted to continue that sense of balance into our interior," said Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg.
"Our approach combines natural materials and bespoke modern furnishings in an organic scheme that flows through the apartment and makes the most of the light-filled space. Residents of an exceptional building such as this are looking for an interior that is unique and bespoke and yet which recognises and responds to its context. We are confident we have achieved that balance at Opus Hong Kong."
With panoramic views of the city skyline, Opus Hong Kong comprises two double-level garden apartments and ten apartments of some 6,000-6,900 sq ft, each occupying an entire floor of the 12-storey building.
"The completion of Opus Hong Kong continues our vision to bring highly creative and innovative new architecture to the communities in which we work, and we truly believe Opus Hong Kong will serve as a new milestone in bespoke residential living for the 21st century," added Cubbon.
